The road to becoming Greater Sacramento’s elite pool plastering company began in 1979 with two people, one truck and 24-hour ambition. For Frank Grigsby and his family, owners of the West Sacramento company, this road has led to many unexpected and challenging places.

For instance, in the 1980’s J&F was hired to plaster the swimming pool for the CBS series “Falcon Crest” in Napa. The final product was center stage for several scenes, including one in which actress Susan Sullivan is pinned underwater when her diamond ring catches in the drain.

J&F projects have ranged from the visually rustic, such as the lion’s grotto at the Sacramento City Zoo, to the elegant and posh, à la the Lake Tahoe pool of Mike Love of the Beach Boys. And not every project has been below ground; the swimming pool of Sacramento’s Well Fargo Center required our crew to work four stories up. Today J&F’s highly skilled workforce and fleet of trucks make it the plastering company of choice for many pool builders from the Sierra Nevada to the Coastal Range. Equally important are homeowners who choose J&F to provide the highest quality workmanship within a range of budgets.

Along with Frank, the company is now managed by Frank’s sons, Frank Jr. and Steve, each of whom has two decades of experience in pool plastering and related fields. And a third generation is poised to carry on in a business where the Grigsby name is synonymous with state-of-the-art pool plastering.
